Steelhead Spawning Ground Restoration
Steelhead trout are an important component of California´s diverse wildlife heritage. They are a good indicator of the health of aquatic systems because they use all portions of a river system, and require cool, clean water.

Clean Water at Linda Mar State Beach
The Surfrider San Mateo County Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) tests the mouth of the San Pedro Creek, and found that in 2023, Linda Mar had unhealthy levels of enterococcus (fecal) bacteria 54% of the time. Armed with decades of BWTF data, Surfrider San Mateo is working with a growing coalition of organizations including Salted Roots, San Pedro Creek Watershed Coalition (SPCWC), Cultivar Foundation and the Pedro Point Surf Club, to advocate for solutions to this environmental justice and public health issue.
